Wendy Wassink is a nationally published portrait artist and illustrator with over 700 works in print, including magazine and book covers, and fully illustrated children’s books.  She has created portraits all of her life, and has been painting professionally since 1973.  She is known for her accurate likenesses, and is pleased to provide photo reference for portraits previously commissioned.

    Her portraits are on exhibit at WWA PORTRAIT STUDIO & GALLERY, and at various galleries in West Virginia (list availbable on request).

    Wassink’s formal training has been helpful in the area of portraiture.  As a book and magazine illustrator, she has learned to be very exacting, and in addition to traditional portraiture, can create fanciful portraits or posthumous scenes, combining elements that may no longer exist.

    As an established artist, she is often invited to lecture and give demonstrations /workshops  for such hosts as Carnegie Hall (Lewisburg, WV), Tamarack (Beckley, WV), and various schools in the state, with audiences ranging from kindergarten to college.
