



Wendy Wassink Ackison is a portrait artist and children’s book
illustrator living in Fayetteville, WV, with her
husband Clark and their two children, Nathan and Laurel, whose names
she has hidden in her paintings and children’s
book illustrations since 1993. A professional illustrator for many
years, since 1980 Wendy has produced corporate
advertising illustration for companies such as Hanes, Lifesavers, Volvo,
Wrangler, Planters, L’eggs, Krispy Kreme,
Evenflo, Mattel, and Bali, among others. In 1990, she began illustrating
children’s books, magazines, posters,
and textbooks (Silver Burdette Ginn, and Oxford University Press).
In 1996, she was the illustrator
for Wonderful West Virginia magazine. She is currently
working on her fourth fully illustrated book
and completing the design and illustration of a children's board game.
Wendy's fine art, portrait paintings, and illustrations are rendered
in oil, watercolor,
pastel, acrylic, pencil, pen & ink, and a mixed media technique
she uses for speed and control.
She is skilled at rendering accurate likenesses and has a long list
of portrait clientele.
